The older we get the friendlier we are to ourselves. This is perhaps a motivating factor for the Fabulous Team to build a long lost race car … Tony DeLorenzo’s, “Hot Commodity”… The Owens Corning #6 Corvette that raced in 1970 at Daytona.

There’s significant history behind the recreation of this vehicle, so fittingly George Haddad got up with Corvette race car driver and owner of the #7 Owens Corning race car, Jerry Thompson, who offered several choice tidbits of technical information relevant to authenticity. Also, former Corvette race car driver, Cliff Gottlob, provided his take on component parts used in the day.

Fabulous Restorations is committed to the accurate preservation of this race Car and it is fundamental company priority to consult with essential people. Subsequently, Dave Miller, owner of a ’68 LT 2 built by Werner Meier, Tom Langdon and Gib Hufstader, persuaded George to speak with Werner for genuine, proper information concerning the #6. And the build goes on!

The credentials of Corvette racing legends contribute enormous credibility as we demonstrate accuracy and a deep conviction to all race car restoration projects.
Many thanks to Registry of Corvette Race Cars owner, Jan Hyde, who helped provide historic information and photos.
